Accessibility Statement

CiteWave Systems LLC builds websites for a living, so it would be poor form for our own site to be hard to use. This statement describes where citewavesystems.com currently stands, honestly, including what we have not done yet.

The standard we work to

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That is the level most commonly referenced by US accessibility requirements, and it is the benchmark we design against. We describe this as an aim rather than a certification: this site has not been through a formal third-party audit, and we will not claim conformance we have not had independently verified.

What the site does today

• Semantic structure. Pages use real landmarks and a logical heading order, so screen reader users can navigate by structure instead of reading linearly.
• Skip link. A "Skip to main content" link is the first focusable element on every page, letting keyboard users bypass the navigation.
• Keyboard operability. Navigation, menus, links, and form controls can be reached and operated without a mouse, and focus remains visible.
• Text alternatives. Meaningful images carry descriptive alt text; decorative images are marked so assistive technology skips them.
• Reduced motion. The site honors your operating system's "reduce motion" setting, switching off entrance animations and pulsing indicators.
• Declared language. Every page declares its language so screen readers pronounce content correctly.
• Responsive and zoomable. Layouts reflow down to small screens and tolerate browser zoom without content being cut off.
• Labeled forms. Contact form fields have associated labels rather than relying on placeholder text alone.

Known limitations

We would rather tell you these than have you discover them:

• No independent accessibility audit has been carried out. Our testing so far is our own.
• We have not yet tested against every combination of screen reader and browser. If you use one we have missed, we would genuinely like to hear how it went.
• Some decorative gradient and glow effects are used for visual depth. They carry no information, but they can reduce contrast in the immediate area on some displays.
• Styling is loaded from a third-party CDN. If that service is slow or blocked, pages remain readable but will look unstyled.
• Third-party services we link to, such as scheduling or search platforms, have their own accessibility standards that we do not control.
